Dilshan, RoseMary and I went to the Ramones Anniversary show at the Avalon. We saw bands do covers of the Ramone songs and there were lots of famous people there. The Los Angeles event was hosted by Rob Zombie, and the huge line-up consisted of The Dickies, Bad Religion's Brett Gurewitz, the Sex Pistols' Steve Jones, Blink 182's Mark Hoppus, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones' Dickie Barrett, Pete Yorn and Rooney's Robert Carmine along with Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Red Hot Chili Peppers members Flea and John Frusciante, Henry Rollins and Rancid's Tim Armstrong and Marky and C.J. Ramone! Phew! Luckily we were able to get VIP passes and went up to the afterparty. We hung out with the amazingly awesome Fletcher and Jim from Pennywise, Dil’s all-time favorite band. Fletcher spent twenty minutes attempting to teach lil Dil how to shake hands properly. Poor Dil was shaking so badly—he was not only meeting a member of his favorite band but was getting lesson on proper hand shaking. Dream come true. We also saw Rob Zombie and his beautiful wife Sherry Moon there.
