MaryAnn (RoseMary’s sister), RoseMary and I left for the all-day festival known as Ozzfest at about 5, only around six hours after it started. So, running on our usual schedule—late—we went to the concert and ran in to hear the second to last song played by oh-so-awe inspiring Slayer, Raining Blood. After watching their last song, Angel of Death, we decided to do our traditional investigation of the venue. We quickly found the various backstage entrances, and exactly which passes we needed to obtain to make this adventure a success. We harassed all those with passes, which when going into the crowd a pass is more of a detriment than a virtue. Then, after watching some AMAZING acts especially Judas Priest and Black Sabbath—some of our favorite bands, we found some nice gentlemen who were willing to aid us in our backstage ambition. We were successful, and we made it backstage. RoseMary and I naturally went straight for the cafeteria (free food!) and saw none other than Jack Osbourne—who naturally had a piece of cake in his hand. And then I stopped dead in my tracks. There was one of my heroes—Sharon Osbourne. She was mingling really well with all the guys sitting in the cafeteria (I wonder if we will ever have that great of power) as RoseMary and I awkwardly watched on. Then, just like the silly little girls we are, we asked to take a photo with Sharon outside. The security guard saw us and kicked us out of backstage—but at least we had met Sharon! We spent the rest of the time chatting with the manager of bands like the amazing Van Halen and Boston. All in all: good times.
